Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers

MAXWOR brazed plate heat exchangers are gasket-free plate heat exchanger solutions developed to provide high-efficiency heat transfer in a compact design. Stainless steel plates are permanently joined using vacuum brazing with copper or nickel, resulting in a fully sealed and durable structure.

Thanks to their gasket-free design, brazed heat exchangers can operate safely under high pressure and temperature conditions. They are widely used in HVAC, refrigeration, heat pumps, oil cooling, and industrial process applications.

The specially designed plate geometry enables high heat transfer capacity in a compact volume. With no moving parts, the system offers low maintenance requirements, long service life, and easy installation advantages.

For hygienic applications, nickel-brazed versions are available, while dual-circuit solutions can be produced for systems requiring separate flow paths. This provides flexible solutions tailored to different industries and process needs.

Design and Operating Principle

Brazed heat exchangers are constructed from AISI 316 stainless steel plates. Special flow channels formed between the plates allow fluids to move in counter-flow direction, ensuring highly efficient heat transfer across a maximum surface area.

Vacuum brazing technology creates a homogeneous and high-strength bond between plates. This gasket-free structure maximizes leak-tightness while minimizing maintenance requirements.

Special plate patterns are designed to generate turbulent flow, increasing the heat transfer coefficient while optimizing pressure drop.

  • Sulfate (SO₄²⁻): < 100 ppm
  • Ammonia (NH₃): < 10 ppm

Design & Material

Brazed plate heat exchangers are manufactured using AISI 316 / 316L stainless steel for both plates and connections, providing high corrosion resistance. The plates are bonded using copper or nickel brazing in a vacuum furnace environment.
