Design and Operating Principle
Double sphere rubber expansion joint designs are optimized with a double-bellows elastomer body structure to provide high flexibility and a wide range of movement capacity.
The double-sphere configuration absorbs axial, lateral, and angular movements while also reducing the transmission of vibration and mechanical shock to the piping system. This helps minimize stress on pump, valve, and equipment connections.
Flanged connections provide easy installation, while the high movement capability also helps accommodate installation tolerances.
Performance Advantages
- Provides higher movement capacity compared to single sphere models
- Effectively absorbs thermal expansion
- Maximally reduces vibration and noise
- Protects piping systems and equipment connections
- Helps compensate for installation tolerances
- Minimizes mechanical stresses
- Long service life
- Low maintenance requirement
Operating Values
Operating Pressure
- Maximum 16 bar
- (depending on DN size and elastomer type)
Operating Temperature
- EPDM: -20°C / +120°C
- NBR: -10°C / +100°C
- Neoprene: -20°C / +100°C
- Viton: -10°C / +180°C
Movement Capabilities
- Axial Movement: ±25 mm – 40 mm
- Lateral Movement: ±20 mm – 30 mm
- Angular Movement: 8° – 15°
Note: Movement capacities and maximum operating values may vary depending on product diameter (DN), operating pressure, and elastomer type.
