Double-Wall Heat Exchangers

In this system, a double-plate barrier separates the fluids instead of a single plate.

Thanks to this configuration, the fluids do not mix in the event of potential plate damage; instead, any leakage is directed to the external environment, allowing for early detection by the operator.

Design & Material

Materials used in double-wall heat exchangers are selected according to the hygiene and corrosion resistance requirements of the process.

Plate Materials:

  • AISI 316L → Hygienic and general process applications
  • AISI 304 → Standard applications
  • Titanium → High-chloride and seawater environments
  • Special alloys → Processes requiring advanced chemical resistance

Gasket Materials:

  • EPDM → Food processing and hot water applications
  • NBR → Oil and hydrocarbon-based fluids
  • FKM (Viton) → High-temperature and chemically aggressive applications

Design Features:
