Technical Specifications

The operating principle of gasketed plate heat exchangers is based on two fluids with different temperatures flowing through channels separated by thin metal plates, typically in a counter-flow arrangement.

This flow configuration maximizes the logarithmic mean temperature difference (LMTD), resulting in high thermal efficiency.

Plates: Specially pressed plate geometries create turbulent flow conditions, increasing the heat transfer coefficient. At the same time, they provide mechanical strength to withstand pressure loads.

Gaskets: Elastomer-based gaskets are positioned to ensure that fluids pass through designated channels. This structure prevents mixing of fluids while ensuring sealing and pressure balance. System performance depends on parameters such as flow rate, plate pattern, physical properties, and temperature difference.
